S.O.L.I.D. 3PX

S.O.L.I.D. 3PX (Secure On Line ID 3rd Party eXtended validation) gives the ability for logo owners to warn users a web site is displaying a logo that is not approved by its owner, without any user interaction.

This example shows the bottom right corner of a browser for an internet shopping site and the software's response, without any user intervention. The main site authentication window shows Grey, indicating in this case the web site is not a subscriber and therefore we can not authenticate the site.

However the additional window above, clearly shows the ISIS (Internet shopping is safe) logo. This is shown with 'Not Authorised' because this site is displaying the logo of the organisation without its permission. We can not say the web site is fraudulent. Indeed it may not be, so it is not being blocked by the software. But it is displaying a logo to suggest membership of an association that it is not, so the warning to users appears.
