If you have downloaded FCS’s S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® software you should see the logo of the site you are visiting in the S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® window. If you see a warning yellow or red indicator in the S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® window when the SOLID logo is on the web site then the site is probably a fake. No SOLID and yellow means the site does not subscribe to the service. As this site is First Cyber Security, you should see our logo in the S.O.L.I.D. Authentication window ®. If you don’t, it’s a fake.
Fraudsters can copy the logo just as they can copy real site content. But, if you see the logo and you have installed the S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® software you should see the logo of the site you are visiting in the S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® window, which will confirm you are where you think you are.
If your Bank or e-commerce company subscribes to this service then look for the confirmation of their logo, and click on the box to see ‘Instant Links’ to other areas of their site.
Potential subscribers to this service please click on Home at the top of the page to visit the full site and see how it can help your customers.
Passive validation with a system that takes 3 seconds to learn.
If the window shows the logo of the web site...that's where you are. If it doesn't show the logo then you are not. There is nothing for the user to do except glance at the window. If they needed to do more they wouldn't do it.
S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® guide to symbols
When you believe you are connected to a web site that subscribes to the S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® service, and you are, a reassuring logo of the subscribing company is displayed.
When you see the red symbol, S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® has identified this as a security risk but the user is still protected. The fraudulent web site will be blocked helping to prevent malware being downloaded, and the user will be offered to be directed to the authentic site.
When you see the yellow symbol, S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® has attempted to authenticate the site but has failed. You should exercise caution on whether to use the website. If you normally see a Bank or e-retailers logo and suddenly you don't then use extreme caution.
When you see the Grey symbol, S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® has taken no action with regard to this site as it does not subscribe to the service.
